Skin Regime

Skin. For teenagers especially I feel that the condition of your skin can influence your life more than you are really aware of, I know that if my skin isn't feeling that good it really knocks my confidence about everything. This is a reason I try to take good care of my skin.

A little about my skin before I go into the products I use. Generally I have pretty good skin, apart from the occasional breakout (localised on my skin most of the time). However I do have scarring from chicken pox, I had it unusually late at 12 rather than at 4 so my scarring isn't as faded as most peoples.

When it comes to my skin I prefer to use products that are't likely to irritate me, hence my love of SIMPLE products. Every day I use their Purifying Cleansing Lotion and Soothing Facial Toner, both in the morning and at night to remove any residual make up and generally get rid of any dirt etc. About once or twice a week I use Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash at night as a more intensive cleanser.

To treat spots I use the good old staple of Sudocreme.. I've tried lots of different treatments but honestly haven't found anything that is affordable and beats this household name.

Wishlist #001

1. cheap monday acid wash jeans - I'm in love with acid wash jeans at the moment especially after watching Jenn Im from Clothesencounters pull hers off so well. These Cheap Monday ones are just heavenly in my opinion but I just can't buy jeans online, especially superskinny ones like these, so I'm gonna have to scour my local Urban Outfitters for a pair.
2. ombred sweatshirt - I have such a love hate relationship with sweatshirts, as I feel sometimes they just make you look like a slob but this is a definite exception. The ombred lovelyness combined with the cut out shoulders makes this a sweatshirt I would happily wear on an almost daily basis.
3. oatmeal knit jumper  - As someone who leans towards black and purple in terms of knitwear I find I often lack warmer pieces in lighter shades, this gorgeous lightweight knit is perfect for layering and would work insanely well with light wash denim and cowboy boots.
4. cut out green jumper - Once again I'm leaning towards tops with cutouts, sometimes I'm just so predictable. But this jade coloured jumper is so seasonal as we approach Christmas and looks insanely warm (a deffo + for a girl living in the tropical region of Scotland haha).
5. velvet dress - My love affair with velvet is rather funny considering my mum simply can't stand the feel of the fabric, but even she agrees that this dress is a really cool twist on teh typical Christmas party dress.

NOTW #002

Thumb - Barry M Blue Moon
Fingers - Accessorize Teal
All topped with Barry M Silver Multi Glitter

Feel like I've been slacking a bit on blog front the last few days, both posting and reading new blog posts. Thanks school, having taken quite a heavy course load this year come test time it's a tad stressful. But all my work the last few years has definitely paid off as I just found out I have an interview at my dream university!! The next two weeks will primarily focussed on preparing for that whilst jamming to some TSwift and Glee of course.

A thought on Hollywood

images c/o weheartit

Hollywood. Celebrity. As a teenage girl living in the Western world I have to admit that Hollywood dominates my idea of what is stylish. However rather than spending hours looking at photographs from the red carpets I love looking at how the 'celebrities' style themselves, whether they're just going to the supermarket or to Coachella. In particular the way in which Nina Dobrev, Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift and Dianna Agron present themselves as both comfortable and stylish inspires me. They are at ease with the way they look and despite having their photos taken everywhere they go they dress the way they want to. As someone who overthinks everything, especially the way I dress, I find this amazing and wish I could replicate their confidence.

Classy Girls (OOTD #002)

Top - River Island
Skirt - Topshop
Slippers - Primark

I'm apologising right now for the really weird poses in this OOTD as well as my slippers... This is what I wore on Saturday, a day in which I basically studied and watched the Formula One (Team Vettel all the way for the driver's championship btw). I probably sound really boring but I had been out at a concert on the Friday night and felt so exhausted that I only left the house once over the weekend.

The title of this OOTD is a song by the Lumineers, if you haven't heard of the Lumineers then you are definitely missing out! They're so cute and folksy, not to mention AMAZING live...

"Classy girls don't kiss in bars you know."

Wrist of the Week #001

skull bracelet - claire's accessories
twine bracelet - greek market
eye bracelet - turkish market stall

I have to admit I quite enjoy scrolling through the #armcandy tag on instagram (@scarlettcharlotte) and thought it would be a quite interesting thing to regularly post about on my blog. If I'm wearing any jewellery its probably a bracelet, make that several tbh.
