NOTW Oct/Nov

This lovely although slightly badly painted nail polish is Moonstruck by 17. I have to admit that this nail polish was chosen as it reminds me of Christmas and now that's November I can officially start getting ready fro my favourite holiday! Unusually I actually got complements on my nails this week, I think it was just because I, unlike a lot my year, hadn't done Halloween themed nails (purely because I suck at nail art - wish I could do awesome designs though).

Just a wee haul

I may have gone a wee cheeky shopping trip with the mother while my sister went to see James Bond for a friend's birthday. As soon as it starts getting dark really early I just have this uncontrollable urge to shop, which my mum rather enjoys encouraging.

Purple Aztec Tank Top (Topshop)
Topshop's basics are a weakness of mine actually make that Topshop in general especially as I get a 10% discount there with my UCAS card in store. I'm really leaning towards purple and burgundy this autumn and combining that with my love of geometric prints this top just jumped out at me! My only small qualm is that its a little short in the body but I can deal with that as it looks lovely under a big knitted cardie with leggings (my post school uniform).

Grey Skater Skirt (Topshop)
I already own this skirt in black for school and have to admit I want to get it in as many colours as possible. I just find that its a really decent length, not so short that you feel kinda awkward but not really long either. And for only £16 how can you expect me to resist??

Winter Coat (Socal at Republic)
Finding a new winter coat was somewhat of an ordeal this year, I have fairly broad shoulders which means I have to go up a size in coats. This then creates a dilemma as said larger coat can make me look rather weird with too much fabric around my torso. However I eventually found this (okay, my mum did) and not only does it not drown me but its also so snuggly and warm - perfect for winter! Guess what the coat's name is Chalet Girl!! I am now going to be reminded of Ed Westwick every time I wear it.. drool...

Weekly Round-up #01

So I've had this blog for a week now, well at least its been a  week since I first posted anyways. This week I returned to school after being off for October week and I have to admit that on Monday I was severely lacking in enthusiasm to be at school. Such a shocker right?? It's been a good week TV wise as Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl came back last week so I've had something to look forward to all during school on a Monday and Wednesday. And as usual I have fallen back in love with Damon Salvatore and Nate Archibald - every season this happens... I just like a bit of eye candy in my life okay! Cause there certainly isn't any of that at school. The clothes especially in GG catch my attention and make me wish I was a TV character sometimes.

Having started this blog I've really got back into reading blogs rather than just watching YouTube ones, although saying that I have discovered quite a few new YouTubers to watch as well  The only problem with this is that it rather encourages me to spend more money, something I don't really need any help with, quite capable of spending a lot all by myself.

Hollywood Red by Maybelline

There's this boots (a drugstore for you non-Uk folk) quite near where I live and its just one of those shops that you can't leave without spending a ton of money there, I mean it even has a Benefit bar! So I was there a couple of weeks ago picking up some nail polishes as I do fairly often and Maybelline had their 2 for £10 offer on and well one thing led to another and here we are!

Maybelline's Colorsensational lipstick in 540 - Hollywood Red.

I have a love hate relationship with red lippy, I really want to be able to pull of that really sophisticated red lip that just oozes French glamour but I'm a pale Scottish teen who definitely does not ooze sex appeal. But never the less I will persevere, the name of the lippy may have influenced my buying it as well *just sayin'*. This lipstick just feels so moisturising and the colour stays all day, it even lasted an entire coffee-drinking school day! By combining this red lippy with my rather large geeky Missoni glasses I got so many "you look like Taylor Swift" comments - which is always a good thang.

Perks of Being a Wallflower (OOTD #001)

Shirt - ASOS
Jeans - Newlook
Boots - River Island
Belt - Primark
Watch - Fossil
This is what I wore to go see Perks of Being a Wallflower at the cinema and boy did the film not disappoint. Not only did they take one of my favourite books of the year and turn into an amazing piece of visual art but the soundtrack just blew me away. And yes I am weak and I did immediately go home and buy the soundtrack off of iTunes.
Now onto the actual purpose of the post rather than just rambling on about how much I loved the film, my shirt! Is anyone else just completely in love with it?? I mean its covered in raccoons! I'm not quite sure what possessed me to order it off of asos but I'm so glad I did.
